First Day of school
Dear all,
Welcome back to Thornhill for another exciting year. We hope you've all had a lovely summer break and are ready to return to school today. Things will be a little different this morning so please read the information below to make sure that you and your children know where you are going when you arrive.
Some of our classes have changed classrooms, so you will be dropping off and collecting in different place.
Nursery and Reception: Please use the same entrance via the green fence gate into the EYFS play area.
Year 1: Walk into the quad. You will now be in what used to be Year 2 and 3 classrooms. Miss Morris and Mrs Jackson will meet you at the doors.
Year 2: Walk into the quad. You will now be in what used to be the Year 6 classroom. Mrs Henkes will meet you at the door.
EYFS, Years 1 and 2 will be collected from their new classrooms by parents at the end of the day as usual.
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6: Today, your teachers will meet you on the top playground of the Grove Road site and walk you down to your new classrooms on the new site. Parents will be welcome to walk down too so that they can see where their children will be. At the end of the day, these children will be walked back up to the top playground by their teachers to meet parents.
By the end of this week, once timings are a little clearer, we will let parents know how a more permanent drop off and collection system will work for the children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
